FanBox Review

Here is another income producing blog writing internet social networking site(what a mouth full). It is called Fan Box(http://www.fanbox.com). I was invited to join, so I signed up took a look, and setup a profile. It looks kinda cute. I'm still learning how to use it. So if there are others out here on Hubs, that know how to navigate the site fluently. This would be a good ideal hub too write. Once I got on, I received an email message from a fanbox blog coach with suggestions on blog themes. One that caught my eye was to write or start a blog on the 1970's. I guess with trying to learn the system, and figuring out what to do. I got confused and messed up on the title. This is what came to thought and what I rolled with;
You can see where I went wrong, right? Well, the suggestion was to start a blog on stuff about the 70's. Not about NYC in 1970, specifically where I lived on 141st & Riverside. Oh well, what can I say. Its what I recalled at that moment. I'm a writer by impulse, and my database of info within my feeble brain, has to allow for the information to just fl-o-w--. Although, I'm not a monster writer on hubpages.. i.e.. 2000 plus articles. I consider myself an article writer, more so than a blogger. Unless, I'm missing something and the little articles I've written on hubpages are considered blogs too. Never the less, two days later, I get another email from the coach, stating how my blog had already generated .37 cents. "Wow," I said to myself, "you know how long it took me to make .37 cents with adsense." And, I still haven't found the key to getting people to click on the ads on my pages...hahaha... Any suggestions? hahahah.. Oh yes, I know... use "good keywords, a good title, and write more articles." It still takes a while. So, you must be patient, and wait to get up there on the count. I guess, I'll have to make it to monster writer status anyway...hahaha..
The coached suggested I write another one, and up to 5 blogs to start. The top bloggers generate good income with 5 active blogs at a time. Considering, they already have a good crowd of fans/followers & friends. That the more people read your blogs, the more money one can make. Oh... I get it now. I need five good topics, that will draw a crowd. Drive traffic there, by way of a friends social networks & fans. But, how do the blogs make money when people read them? I guess there goes my first blog idea. Unless, there are people interested in what went on in 1970, on my block.
FanBox, has in-house apps plus third party apps, which you add to your profile. They are generated widgets which will link sites or gadgets to your profile. These apps provide connectivity to other networks or blogs, and spice up your page. There is a catch. Some apps have a price on them. Another thing, when you sign up you will need to include your cell number and cellular provider. This is for SMS notifications, & billings. Not bad, because you can obtain direct text from fans, keep track of earnings, see when there is a new fan, or comment, among other things. But most importantly for FanBox here is how they charge you for their features..i.e(apps, premium blogging rights, & SMS). I believe everyone on the FanBox network that is a blogger, has to pay the monthly subscription fee; for using features, and reading someone else's blog. This gets billed to you through your phone carrier. Just as if it were a ringtone, or smart phone app. To summarize, you would pay the $9.99 a month premium blogger subscription fee; another charge for adding certain widgets, bells & whistles to your profile; plus get charged for messaging. Using the social network is free, without the bells & whistles.
As I navigated the site and had completed the full setup. I noticed, that you are in control of what you pay. As in, number of apps, widgets, and which messages you really need to receive. I guess this is how you would keep your cost down. What is the spread on the 9.99 premium blogger charge? I don't know. Yet, none of the email or premium blogger features work, unless you sign up with your cell. I also noticed, that when you write a blog, and publish it. Others, have to already have been subscribed to FanBox, in order to read the blog. If not they get billed the 9.99 to be subscribed to that blog. I believe here is where the blogger gets a cut on the deal. Please correct me, if I'm wrong, I'm figuring all this out, as go. Hence, the information is scattered, or at least, there is no one central, place which explains how it all really works. This is why I wrote this article.
Here the blogger agreement clause:
"The more time Readers spend on your blog compared to other blogs, the more money you earn. Definition of Reader: A user that subscribes to any Premium Blog, causing a payment transaction to be successfully processed by the user's mobile carrier and remitted to MobileGuard. Some users are not subscribers of mobile networks that are currently billable by MobileGuard; and some transactions are invalid and/or uncollectable due to insufficient funds, bad credit, user spending caps, carrier network issues and leakage, chargebacks, claims, or refunds. The FanBox Premium Blog Leaderboard reflects estimated earnings. All attempted transactions are considered pending until MobileGuard receives confirmation of payout from the user's mobile carrier. Any chargebacks, refunds, and/or uncollected transactions previously advanced to you will be reconciled with your account on a monthly basis. Payment term is Net 75 days. Users pay their mobile carrier within 30 days. The mobile carrier then pays MobileGuard within 30 days, then MobileGuard processes and sends your payment to you. Please allow up to 15 days for processing."
What do you think? I personally, would not stop writing on hubpages. I've grown to enjoy it and like I said. I'm more of short story writer, than Q & A type dude. Yet, that there is potential for income in FanBox, I believe so.
Just for kicks here is the next blog; I still need to work on crowd gathering, people pulling titles:

I just had a fellow blogger mention FanBox. Never heard of it before, so I had to research it. Was excited to see a fellow hubber write an article about it. It sounds awesome, but I am not too keen on the $9.99 fee, nor do I like the idea of forking over my cell phone #. I would rather be billed through a credit card or PayPal. But my cell phone? No thanks. I will keep this on bookmarked for the future. Never know, might change my mind. Thanks for the review.
Hi there, I have been on Fanbox officially since November 2010, I don't subscribe or use any of my own money for blogging. To date I have earned $6,000 plus. I'm just starting to earn some decent dollars. I have used a bulk of my earnings for ads to drive traffic to my blogs. I still enjoy posting and blogging. Fanbox has created many different was of earning. There is a big announcement coming in a few days for an even better potential apparently. Cheers! P.S. I found your hub page by typing in Fanbox Review.
I just read your post on FanBox and followed it here, BabaSixto.
Fanbox has definitely gotten a bad rap, mostly because of its intense focus on growing its company without investors, and this had lead to giving really young people too much responsibility; responsibility that is normally reserved for people with more experience.
The result of that is great for the youngsters that get to grow fast, but since they are inexperienced, it can also backfire as it did on Fanbox. There is much written about this in this blog post: http://posts.fanbox.com/kkqv3
I cannot think of another company that has inspired me as much as Fanbox has -- and I am a HUGE Apple fan! In my opinion, Fanbox IS the next Apple -- the company that the whole world will be speaking about soon.
I found your post on Fanbox and followed you here! I found Fanbox in April of this year and it has been awesome! I don't consider myself a writer or blogger at all, but they make it easy so anyone can do it. It is a great way to make some extra money online. And you can actually make thousands...I have almost made a grand to date. I have only had a positive experience on the site and recommend it to everyone!!!
I think it was easy to misinterpret that comment, when you don't know someone and you can't hear them speak, you never know what tone is placed with what they write :-) As I said I can't speak for her but I am sure that is what she really meant. Well when you have time, come see the site. If you need help with anything let me know. Have a great day!
BabaSixto- You should honestly go back and check it out. Not only do they pay you for blogging, they give money to your charities also. It really is an awesome community, I am on and off the site through out the day. Being a stay at home mom it is an amazing opportunity for me to earn extra income for my family.
Fanbox just recently sent me a check to deliver to one of my favorite charities.

I can't speak for Rocker Lee but I don't think she meant to offend you, I believe she was just making a statement of as long as you put an effort in you will make money. I hope to see you on the Fanbox site!:-)
Have a blessed day!
http://blogs.fanbox.com/SinglePost.aspx?pbid=17441 is the Best site that I have ever found to date. They are Real and they pay us members for our time and work.If Fanbox did not work for you ( Then it is your own fault not Fanbox).
They give you many ways to earn money and make friends,Be in a family based community. It is up to "you" how much you make and earn.Only one picture and one blog will not get you far.
You have to advertise your blogs on the Internet and your site.People need to find you, If you want to make even more money. If you do not try then it will not work for you.You want proof here it is " See and Listen for yourself"

Fanbox is definitely not a scam. I've actually made thousands of dollars to blog, and I have the copies of the checks to prove it. I first signed up back in 2004 and it's a great site for bloggers. I'm actually hooked on Fanbox more than I am with Facebook.

I stumbled on your site looking for some answers regarding fanbox. I registered and started to only check it out when my photo made 3$. But I'm finding scary reviews, what do you think about this?

Maya, I also saw that before stumbling upon this hub.
If you read it closely, that report is in regards to the emails.
I noticed that, when I signed to Fanbox, whicj I did a couple of minutes ago, they invited me to share the opportunity with my contacts.
Hence the "spam".
That thread does not refer to payments not made or the like. I am indeed glad that I found this hub. Voted up.
