Airbender Spiritual Kids Movie

The best moments at the movies, is when you go in not expecting much from a movie and end up getting blown away. I don't know about you but, I can't remember when was the last time I had enjoyed a movie to the point in which I did not want it to end. I will look forward to all future sequels. The Paramount Pictures movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan, is amazing and even more so, the 3D effects; so much fun!

When I took my 7 year old daughter to see the Last Airbender movie over the weekend. I was not expecting it to be so spiritual. I Knew that one of the cable cartoon channels had a show about it. Because, I managed to catch a glimpsed at the TV, when ever the kids were around. Yet really never paid true attention to it. Well, I must say! what a surprise! I fell in love with the message, the effects, the characters. My jaw fell when, they expressed the meanings of the elements. And, how the airbender needed to accept his role in the world. He did not finish his training when he ran off. Only to return after 100 years out of a meditative frozen sleep state. I wish we could do that. He being the last of his kind, with the ability to control/bend air. He was chosen to balance the elements or forces of nature.

Still young and needing to learn how to bend plus meld with the other 3 elements(fire, earth, & water). His first challenge was with water. The element of flowing energy and emotions. Through the martial arts dance or katas. He practiced and learned to balance and control the channeling of this element. His ultimate goal was to show the enemy the power of water, without hurting them. In this way, they would begin to respect all the other elements as well. How can we become good at anything without feeling or having passion for it?

Wow! The Last Airbender is a truly spiritual, and a definite must see. It will also help children learn to understand the 4 elements, become aware of their existence, and how we are in constant connection to them in nature and in our bodies.
